Former IPS officer and BJP leader Kiran Bedi will be the new Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
President Pranab Mukherjee Sunday approved the appointment of Kiran Bedi as the new LG of union territory of Puducherry.
Kiran Bedi tweeted a copy of his appointment letter on her twitter profile.
She said: “This belongs to all those who reposed trust in me, taught me, groomed me…. and found time for me.”

It’s an important assignment for former IPS officer who had challenged former India Against Corruption colleague Arvind Kejriwal for the post of Chief Minister of Delhi but lost badly.
Kiran Bedi was mostly active in social work following BJP’s trouncing defeat in Delhi assembly elections.
At present, Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Ajay Kumar Singh is holding the additional charge of Puducherry.
After a gap of almost two years, Puducherry will now have a full time Lt. Governor.
Lt. General AK Singh, Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar has been holding the additional charge of Puducherry since July 2014.
