Top US Lawmakers wholeheartedly appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the joint sitting of the Congress.
Prime Minister Modi Wednesday made a powerful speech against any form of terror while addressing the joint sitting of Congress and also appreciated the Congress’ role in blocking concessional supply of F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan whom India had long accused of harbouring and supporting terror activities in the neighbourhood.
Speaker of House of Representatives Paul Ryan, said in a statement that it was an honour for him to host Mr Modi at the Capitol.
Ryan said it was encouraging to hear the Prime Minister’s steadfast commitment to making sure everyone has an opportunity to rise.
He said he share the Prime Minister’s commitment to strengthening their critical partnership, and thanked him for joining them.
Congressmen and Senators from both the Republican and Democratic parties gave a standing ovation to Mr Modi several times during his address. A number of them also queued up to get the autograph of the Prime Minister.
