The Arunachal Pradesh Governor Tathagata Roy has turned down the request of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki to defer the Assembly session and floor test for another ten days.
The Governor had asked Mr Tuki to prove his majority in the Assembly by tomorrow.
Earlier in the day, Mr Tuki convened the state cabinet meeting at his office in Itanagar, where the main agenda was the postponement of the Assembly session.
Immediately after the Cabinet Meeting, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki met Governor Tathagata Roy and submitted a representation to defer the assembly session.
Arunachal Pradesh State Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia had also said that he had not received any formal letter from the Raj Bhawan about summoning of assembly session nor he has been consulted about it.
He said that holding of Assembly session tomorrow is practically impossible.
Mr Rebia termed the order from the Raj Bhawan asking for convening the Assembly session in two days as unfortunate and a repetition of the same mistake Governor JP Rajkhowa did earlier.
