26/11 conspirator Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal and six others have been sentenced for life in the 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case.
The special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court in Mumbai pronounced the sentence on Tuesday. It also sentenced 2 other convicts in the case to 14 years and 3 to 8 years.
The court had convicted the 12 last week. They were found guilty under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and for waging war against the nation besides other sections under IPC.
The court had acquitted eight in the case, while trial of two accused was separated.
The court had lifted MCOCA charges over all the 22 as the charges were not proved.
In May 2006, a Maharashtra ATS team had arrested three terror suspects from a highway near Aurangabad. RDX, AK-47 rifles and large number of bullets were seized from their possession.
