Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Belgian capital Brussels today morning. The city was hit by a major terror attack that claimed 32 lives. Prime Minister will attend India-EU Summit in the city that is symbolic capital of the European Union.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Belgium in the first leg of his three-nation tour that also includes United States and Saudi Arabia.
Modi will start his program in the Belgian capital Brussels by laying wreath at Malbeek metro station today.
He will meet members of European Parliament and Belgian Parliament. Mr.Modi will also hold meeting with Belgium Prime Minister Charles Michel. He will also attend India-EU summit and will address Indian diaspora.
Prime Minister will also activate Asia’s largest ‘general purpose’ optical telescope installed in ‘Devsthal’, 60 km from Nainital, through ‘Remote Technical Activation’ while on a visit to Belgium.
European Union officials said, Mr. Modi’s decision to attend the EU-India Summit amid heightened security concerns in the region, is a welcome sign that both sides are keen to re-establish a relationship that has been not very active in recent times.
