Indian Army is conducting a major exercise in the sweltering heat of Rajasthan to validate its strike capability. The exercise Shatrujeet (Conquering the enemy) by the elite Strike 1 in deserts of Rajasthan involves 30 thousand troops.
The army will validate its ability to strike deep inside enemy territory in an integrated Air-Land battle environment.
In an official release, Indian army said that this operationally oriented exercise would validate integrated theatre battle fighting concept incorporating new age technologies, weapon platforms and systems as well as long range precision targeting vectors.
Army said it undertakes such exercises at regular intervals at different levels to ensure forces are provided real war like situations and are kept in high state of battle readiness.
Several formations and units of Indian army have been undergoing operational oriented training for past one month for this exercise.
Army said Strike 1 was now poised to conduct integrated operational manoeuvres to validate its operational plans in simulated high tempo battlefield environment and terrain following training manoeuvres at subordinate formation level.
