Indian actor Anupam Kher was denied visa to attend the forthcoming Karachi Literature Festival. According to the organising committee of the festival, Pak government asked to remove name of Mr Anupam Kher from the list of 18 people for granting visa to attend the Literature Festival at Karachi.
Pakistan’s High Commission has claimed that Mr. Kher never applied for a Visa to attend the Karachi Literature Festival.
This is the second denial of visa to the actor in recent times. Earlier in May 2015, Mr Anupam Kher was denied visa to attend the Lahore Literature Festival.
According to the veteran actor, he is not sure why Pakistan’s Govt is denying him visa time and again. Is it because he is vocal about India’s rich tradition of tolerance or because he is a Kashmiri Pandit who might expose Pakistan’s terror nexus.
