HAL-Myanmar Military Dealings: India’s state owned aircraft manufacturer HAL has rejected the reports, which claimed that the company was a major supplier to Myanmar military, which has ousted the civilian government in early February this year and resorted to large scale crackdown on civilian protestors.
“This refers to queries we are getting regarding findings attributed to UNHRC Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar/Stockholm International Peace and Research Institute Arms Transfers Data Base describing HAL as one of the major suppliers to Myanmar military from 2017-2019,” HAL said in a statement shared with media.

Talking about the report, the HAL said, the said report appeared in the section of media with credit to AFP (Yangon).
“It is factually incorrect,” HAL said.
The Indian aircraft manufacturer said it has no business dealing with Myanmar military during the particular period.

“HAL has had no business dealings with Myanmar Defence Forces from 2017-2019. In fact, HAL did not have any business dealing even after 2019 with Myanmar till date,” the HAL added.
